Ordinary ideas….

I love this little list of “ordinary” ideas that Richard Pool posted on his blog. What would you like to add to the list? (No more than 3 words per idea.)

Just walk across the room • Seek to serve • Show kindness • Show mercy • Pay attention • Share your story • Listen to someone else’s story • Ask open questions • Be natural • Let God lead you • Give away time • Ask God for opportunities • Get involved in something outside of church • Be generous • Be a good neighbour • Pray for someone • Be available • Spend time with the missing • Do what’s doable • Exploit the ordinary

Thanks Jim. To this I would add:

    Leave good tips.

    Allow cut-ins.

    Say “hello.”

    Start conversations.

    Smile.

    Introduce yourself.

    At work:

Answer the same question again with a smile.

Cover up someone else’s foul-ups. Especially when the don’t do the same for you.

Assign the best motives to those you seem to be working against you

Question the worst motives assigned by those you work with

    Talk to the custodian

Let someone else take the cold water when theres not enough for both.

Don’t cook stinky food in the common lunch area

From my pastor: Put a higher price on their head than your own (think more highly of them than yourself)
