Real southerners don't consider Maryland part of the south. It's definitely south of the Mason-Dixon line, meaning it is not north. There's this nebulous part around here called "Midatlantic." I think it was invented by the auto club, and Maryland is part of it. We don't find the rest of the country confusing at all. There's us, the middle, then the left coast. Easy!
