Roadside OA

The other day I was driving over to my parent’s house and I noticed what appeared to be a homeless man peeing on the side of a busy road. I wondered about his family and how he ended up in this position in his life. It reminded me that part of being a ‘hope peddler’ could be just praying for people. I secretly prayed for the Lord to restore hope in this man’s life.

    Dan,

I remember when I was at a railway station in Germany and I witnessed a young man (obviously stoned) urinating on the tracks, oblivious to the crowd around him. One cannot help but notice, but at that time my noticing led to something of pity and repulsiveness.

Your noticing led to a much better place; compassion and intercession. Doable Evangelism is a great training tool to move us to that better place on a consistent basis.

Way to go. Thanks for sharing.

I secretly prayed for the Lord to restore hope in this man’s life.

I really like the impact this practice has on those of us who have chosen to follow Jesus.

We want to do something but often lack the time, courage or skill.

Praying behind peoples backs enables us to enter into their world for just a brief moment.

The effects of that moment often insinuate themself into our hearts long after we first prayed
