My Mom Got OA’d!
My 88 year old mom is still in relatively good health and still gets out on her own. I live a considerable distance from her, so I call her once a week to keep in touch and to see how she’s doing.
When I called her this morning, she shared this remarkable story with me:
She drove to the city last week to get her hair cut. She figured while she was there she would stop in at her favorite restaurant to buy lunch. She approached the entry just behind a couple. The man waited and held the door open for her with a very cheerful welcome. It is a lunch buffet where you pay before you seat yourself. She ended up in line right behind the same couple. After the man paid for himself and his wife, he turned to my mom and said he wanted to pay for her meal as well – which he did. Then he helped my mom to a table and asked if there were anything else she needed. She thanked him and said she would be fine. The couple finished their meals, but before they left they came over to her table and asked if everything was all right, and did she need anything else. She assured them that she was fine, and once again thanked him.
She related to me just what a pleasant experience it was and how it lifted her entire day. She said she still thinks about it and when she does it brings a smile to her soul.
My mom was OAd!
