The DE Seminars and Workshops
Prices effective September 1, 2011
1. The Mini-DE Seminar. A three hour mini-version of our full Doable Evangelism Seminar (see below). Can be offered in several ways:
- One evening, or one afternoon or one morning.
- Combine it on a Sunday with Randy speaking at the morning services (for an additional honorarium) and make it a day! Or…
- A weekend retreat (I can do three or four sessions).
- A customized version for your organization or business (Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Para-Church ministries, etc.)
**Cost: $750, plus travel expenses* (includes promotional material, blank books, a digital copy of the DE Course, and more!) Travel expenses can be reduced to airfare (or ground mileage if I’m driving) if you’ll put me up in a home, feed me and haul me around when I’m there. A deposit of $250 (non-refundable) is required to book.
2. The (full) Doable Evangelism Seminar. At this 9-4 Saturday event, you’ll learn how the practice of “counting” only conversions is counter-productive and biblically suspect. You will also learn that the fundamental building block of evangelism — connecting — is a much better place to start. You will walk away with doable ideas – guaranteed. After our seminar many people (including pastors) tell us that they feel “validated” and “empowered”. They leave having discovered that God “counts” what they already do and knowing they can do more of that, with greater intention (and have a lot of fun doing it!).
We will explore new paradigms and practices. We present our findings and lead interactive discussions on the following:
- Why Evangelism Isn’t Normal – Why ordinary Christians don’t participate
- Evangelism as a spiritual practice-The discipline of paying attention to people
- Our little practices – Recovering the spiritual practice of evangelism by using what we call Ordinary Attempts
- A new paradigm, not a new program
- How DE gets people connected to Jesus
We creatively interrupt all of this substance with intriguing movie clips, lots of interaction (five minute meetings), short talks, and humor punctuated by moments of insight.
Included in the schedule for the day is the “Outsiders Interview” designed to give ordinary Christians (and their leaders) a provocative peek at how Christians are perceived by people outside the Church (unchurched, dechurched…or both). This live interview by Randy with (hopefully) three people you recruit from YOUR AREA will change how you and your friends think, talk, and feel about the people Jesus misses most. The honesty, kindness and generosity of these three people will put a human face on those who don’t share our beliefs, those who are outside our walls.
