Doable Evangelism Practice Sessions

de-circle-logo-black

Seven sessions of easy ideas to practice and discuss ordinary attempts with a few friends. Prepared and currently sold by Christianity Today, International (for $15.00), written by Jim Henderson and revised and edited by Randy Siever. These questions and ideas will help you recover evangelism as a spiritual practice (rather than thinking of it as a program).

Price: $12.00.  See payment and order options above.

The Doable Evangelism Course

The DE Course is the perfect follow-up to a DE Seminar, and has been used by churches (really small to REALLY big) as their primary and ongoing evangelism course since 2006.

Facilitator’s Guide

A four-session practicum for groups, based on Jim Henderson’s “Evangelism Without Additives” and written by Randy Siever. With detailed instructions for the facilitator, as supplies check list, and a word-for-word script for each part of the four-session course, your only qualification to lead this is the ability to read! PLEASE NOTE:  You’ll need to obtain a copy of  the movie, “The Big Kahuna”, and one copy of Evangelism Without Additives for each participant. These are available via links to Amazon.com on this page (scroll down). Also available below is Nooma’s “Bullhorn” dvd, which is optional but suggested in the course.  Included with this purchase is a special edition of the “On the Streets” interviews (dvd), used in the course!

Participant’s Guide

This is a reproducible participants guide for the four session course. Unlike most courses with “fill in the blanks” notes, this guide simply includes outline headers (which are identical to the facilitators guide) with plenty of blank space for participants to jot down notes or thoughts THEY HAVE during the sessions. It also includes a variety of quotes, pictures, drawings and an appendix loaded with stories and surveys and other useful material (all correlated to the facilitators guide). Make as many copies as you want!

DE Course Total Price: $65.00, includes Facilitators Guide, Participants Guide, step-by-step instructions to running a DE Course, the DE Course version of the “On the Streets” interviews DVD, and shipping (Continental U.S. only). See payment and order options at the top of this page.

Books and DVDs

The products below are sold and shipped by Amazon.com

Evangelism Without Additives

by Jim Henderson
What if evangelism meant just being yourself? This is the “textbook”, so to speak, for Doable Evangelism, and the DE Course.  For quantity orders (25 or more copies), email Randy at DoableEvangelism.com (I can save you about a buck a book over the current Amazon price)

The Big Kahuna

Yeah, possibly the best movie you’ve never seen. You’ll need this for the DE Course, but you’ll want it for your video library anyway. More spiritual stuff in this totally secular movie than in most Christian movies. Strong language, but pretty tame otherwise.

Nooma: Bullhorn

We suggest this for week one in the Doable Evangelism Course. Provides some insight into the motive and methods of evangelism, and an encouragement to think about it differently.

The Outsider Interviews

by Jim Henderson, Todd Hunter and Craig Spinks

This is a must read for anyone interested in how to reach the upcoming generations (particularly the 20-30 somethings). A collaborative project by three Off The Map buddies (Jim Henderson, Todd Hunter and Craig Spinks), this DVB (digital video book) is a first of it’s kind project that packages a phenomenal set of live interviews on dvd with an insightful and provocative book. Watch the video. Read the book. Do both. You’ll love this one.

Jim and Casper Go To Church

By Jim Henderson and Matt Casper

One of the most fun books I’ve read…and more than a little convicting. Jim Henderson, former pastor, hires Matt Casper, a friendly atheist (and rock star/humorist) to go visit church services at a variety of churches in America. Most of them will be familiar to you. Along the road these two unlikely allies become great friends. We get to listen in as they experience various forms of worship together and then talk about it.

Lord Save Us From Your Followers

My buddy Dan Merchant put this little documentary together that pretty much says it all. Show this to your friends and start a discussion group. Really entertaining, provocative and important.

The Celtic Way of Evangelism, by George C. Hunter

This is one of the seminal works that helped form the new paradigm for Doable Evangelism. Easy read about the life and evangelism strategies of St. Patrick (and a few others).
